Before shipping your old device, follow this 6-step preparation checklist to protect your personal data and ensure smooth processing.
Prepare Your Device for Trade-In
Follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth, fast, and hassle-free trade-in experience:
1. Back Up Your Data
Before sending your device, make sure everything is safely stored.
Use cloud services like Google One or iCloud, or create a backup on your computer to save contacts, photos, messages, and apps.
2. Sign Out of All Accounts
Remove all personal accounts from your device to avoid security locks.
This includes Google, Apple ID, email, banking apps, and social media accounts.
3. Turn Off Tracking & Security Features
Disable all tracking features before sending your device:
On Android: Turn off Find My Device in Settings
On iPhone: Turn off Find My iPhone via your Apple ID settings
This step is essential to complete your trade-in successfully.
4. Remove SIM & Memory Cards
Take out your SIM card and any microSD card using a SIM ejector tool.
These items are not required for trade-in and should be kept by you.
5. Factory Reset Your Device
Erase all personal data by restoring your device to factory settings:
Android: Settings → System → Reset → Erase All Data
iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content
This ensures your data is completely removed and your device is ready for the next user.
6. Clean Your Device
Give your device a quick clean using a soft, lint-free cloth.
Remove any cases or screen protectors to present your device in its best condition.

Packing Guidelines
Use the shipping box provided (or a sturdy box with adequate padding).
Wrap the device in bubble wrap or soft material to prevent damage during transit.
Do not include chargers, cables, or accessories unless specifically requested.
Attach the prepaid shipping label to the outside of the box.
Important: Please ensure that all devices are fully reset and free from any user data. There should be no passcode, iCloud account, or Google account linked to the device.
