Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues are among the most common smartphone problems. Most can be resolved in a few minutes with the steps below.
Wi-Fi Troubleshooting
Toggle Wi-Fi off and on. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Turn it off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
Forget and reconnect. Tap your network name, select "Forget," then reconnect by entering your password again.
Reset network settings. Go to Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth.
Check your router. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Ensure your device is within range and the router firmware is up to date.
Switch Wi-Fi bands. If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, try connecting to the other band. 5GHz is faster but has a shorter range.
Bluetooth Troubleshooting
Toggle Bluetooth off and on on both your Handyswap and the accessory.
Remove the pairing from both devices and re-pair from scratch.
Ensure the accessory is in pairing mode — check the accessory manual for instructions.
Check for interference — move away from other wireless devices, microwaves, and USB 3.0 hubs.
Update firmware on your Bluetooth accessory if available.
Audio Quality Tips
Go to Settings > Connected Devices > Connection Preferences > Bluetooth to access codec settings.
Select LDAC or aptX HD for high-quality audio (if supported by your headphones).
Disable Absolute Volume if volume levels are inconsistent between your phone and accessory.
Warning: Resetting network settings will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile data settings. Note down your Wi-Fi passwords before proceeding.
